ONE-OFF VOLUNTEERING

We recognise that not everyone wants to or can commit to a formal volunteering role. But all time volunteered is valuable. This page lists our small volunteering opportunities where you could make a difference.

If you’d like to get involved, please get in touch. There is no obligation to continue volunteering after, but if you fancy dipping in and out, keep an eye on the page for future opportunities.

Campaigning

Too many people with MND feel trapped in their own homes due to national and local governments failing to deliver essential home adaptations or provide suitable accessible homes in a fair and fast way.

Share your story or a message of support for our Act to Adapt campaign aiming to push for fairer and faster home adaptations. Your message will help to raise awareness of the issues people face and the importance of accessible homes and adaptations for people with MND.

Fundraising

Sign up and we’ll send you a free fundraising pack and be there to support you with ideas, advice and materials. From a stall in your front garden to a quiz in your local pub, and everything in between, we’d love to support your fundraising.

When you join #TeamMND you can count on:
• Fundraising pack including running vest or t-shirt
• Plenty of fundraising advice
• Access to an exclusive online Training Hub for running and cycling events
• Access to our fundraising zone, to download useful materials
• A huge thank you for your efforts

Awareness

Did you know the MND Association is on Instagram… How about giving us a follow?

We’re trying to get to 10,000 followers, this will allow us to unlock more on instagram, enabling us to reach even more people to help join in the fight against MND.

Fundraising

For a monthly donation, you will get a behind-the-scenes look into and exclusive updates from the front line of research. You gain a deeper understanding of MND – and in return, 100% of your support will help fund vital research.

You’ll get to know the researchers who are leading the way, gain a deeper understanding of their work – and become a vital part of the community that believes MND can be beaten.

Awareness

There are many ways you can get involved in MND research, from filling out a survey to testing a new treatment. People living with MND, their family, carers and healthy volunteers are all needed to help researchers understand the causes of MND, and improve diagnosis, care and quality of life of people affected by the disease.

Sign up to the MND Association’s Research Newsletter to know more about the latest developments in MND research and receive updates straight into your inbox.

Campaigning

Everyone with MND should be able to live in a safe and accessible home in the limited time they have left to live. Too many people with MND are living in unsafe environments due to a lack of accessible housing and a failure to deliver essential home adaptations in a timely and efficient manner.

We are calling on councillors to take action to improve the process of getting home adaptations and make moving to an accessible home faster and more efficient. If you live in England or Wales, join the campaign by emailing your councillor today.

Awareness

Every month help us raise awareness of motor neurone disease by sharing our infographic on your social media channels.

Thanks to you, this graphic could be seen tens of thousands of times.

Sharing our graphic highlights some of the key facts about MND that many will not know and may find shocking.

Campaigning

If you can help a little we can change a lot.
